Exclamation On board air compressor location

I have an '06 2500 Diesel and just purchased a rear air helper spring kit. I need to install the air compressor and was wondering where is the best place for it?

Any specific suggestions other than under the hood will be appreciated.

I keep my Viair 380c in mt toolbox out of the weather. Other people mount it under the truck on the frame.

since i put a body lift and 36's on i had no reason to keep the spare tire...so i removed the spare tire and lowering/raising gear and mounted the air ride compresser into the spare tire mount/crossmember...great spot...stays out of way of mud and debris.....just need to get more air line.

You could just put it inside underneath your seat and keep it out of the weather. there's enough room for the smaller ones, especially on the pass side.

Just an idea that i pondered upon.
