Brake Controller
I might be buying a travel trailer and need a brake controller, so wanted to know what brand is a good one and do they just plug in or what and if so where do they plug in and where do they mount?
well unfortunately there not just plug n play, they have to be installed, and ide let a dealer or a shop install, (i hate wireing tho) and ide buy a progressive typ controller, little more expensive but i think its worth it
A proportional controller is best. I like the "Prodigy" brand. You may have a plug under your dash that will connect to the brake controller with the right wiring harness. If not, you'll need to find and tap ground, battery, brake and possibly "on/run" signals.
Just found more info on the controllers so here is a web site to go to..

if you have factory tow package, they sell a OEM harness for plug'n'play. Super easy. If not, then you'll have to get the standard wiring harness and run the wiring yourself. it's not that hard.
