Sent you another vin.
I really appreciate your help.
That second owner issue is confusing us. I know carfax is not perfect but they have it listed as a one owner. The only place I see a second owner is where the dealership bought it at auction. Personally not understanding how this all works. If that truly makes the current dealer the second owner that sux for a prospective buyer like myself.

Are you telling me it is not a limited slip dif?

Good! I already dealt with the factory LSD crap on my previous 2001 Dodge Ram, that was a nightmare. Thank you for checking into that.

Man, is this lsd issue that bad? I am seriously considering not getting the truck. If the rear dif does fly to pieces and warranty covers it does Dodge just slap another crappy dif back under the truck or is there an updated yet better design they use now? I don't mind replacing it with a better aftermarket setup but it is not something I want to do before the clock ticks past 100k.

its not an issue on every truck. they all dont just blow apart. For ever 10 of the customers that i see doing the recommended 15k diff services, maybe one of them runs into problems. Its always the guys that have 40-60k miles with rear diffs that have never been touched that have the issue with the clips failing. Most of the time when you hear a whine or noise, it needs serviced right away. I've seen customers wait weeks and thats when it destroys everything inside the pumpkin and sometimes the housing itself gets torn up. Its worth spending the 100 bucks a year at the dealer to have them check it and document your services if under powertrain warranty...

Im glad some of the other folks have added the issues they had which reminded me of some that I forgot about. The leak by the rear window I had as well as the leaky power steering fluid. The leak seems to have been solved by removing the 3rd brake light and cleaning the seal and screwing it back on. I havent had a leak since. I attached a hose clamp to the power steering hose near the pump and stopped that leaked too. 3rd brake light was about a year ago and the power steering was about 4yrs ago. The other issue I forgot about was a leak on the front windshield, passenger side. The leak was coming in by the grab handle thru one of the screw points. It only leaked in heavy thunderstorms, but that stopped about a year or two ago. The dealer couldnt find where the leak was coming from.
