Talking 09 Two Mode Hybrid rams?

Has anyone seen one of these yet? I seen one today pullin a utility trailer south on I-75 south near front street in michigan. Caught my eye cause it had a single side exhaust but still had the cutouts in the bumper for the dual out the back exhaust tips. Looked like it was being tested cause it had a number on the rear window and it was followin a stock 09 hemi ram with a number on it as well. The badge on the side that normally says 5.7 hemi said two mode hybrid.

Just curious cause i didn't know these were in the works.

I had no idea they were making those or even had them in the works.

you got me curious so i looked it up on google and it said that they are coming out with a dodge ram hybrid but it will be in 2010 now it did confuse but here is what it said about the motor

For the Ram, the system will be paired with the updated 5.7-liter Hemi engine with Chrysler’s multi-displacement-system that allows the engine to operate as a four-cylinder under light-load conditions. The engine will be coupled to two 80-hp electric motors housed inside an electrically variable transmission.

ya they had some little thing in car and driver a couple months ago about the same system but in a darango. so i mean there is no reason why the ram should not get that considering the silverado does.

anyone know about the mpgs it'll get? What about cost? On every other hybrid truck/SUV the price gets astronomical and the new buyer wont ever come close to getting back in fuel savings the extra cost they're paying for the hybrid. In my opinion, the only company out there that really understands the hybrids is toyota and the hybrid synergy drive in the cars (which they also sold to Ford to put in the escape). Seems like everyone else just straps on an electric motor and calls it a hybrid (which is suppose by definition is correct)

2010. 2009 Durango's have them (if you pay for it).

2009 D is 13 and 18 without it and 20 22 with it. It is about a 5K add to the sticker.
