2500 Ram, no MDS.
In the category of "new noise", but otherwise not really noticeable...
Under light acceleration between about 2200-2500 RPM I've started hearing that I could describe as either really light dieseling or knocking. I originally thought it was a small exhaust leak, but an exhaust shop ran a stethoscope end-to-end and didn't hear anything (although you can't hear it at idle).
It's really hard to hear with the windows closed, and it's mostly masked by wind/traffic noise with windows open, so it's not "oh no! the engine is going to blow up!"
Anybody else? Anything else to look at? I had a service-writer at a dealer do a road test with me, and he hears the sound and agrees that it shouldn't be there. I'm working on getting it looked at by an actual mechanic.
FWIW, I've never run 87 octane. Usually 89, sometimes 92 (the 92 was cheaper
)
I've just turned 6,000 miles, and the weather has also started getting warmer (high 50s/low 60s during the day instead of low low-mid 40s).
