Default Let The Modding Begin

So I finally have saved some money and the modding is going to begin. I have an 05 QCSB 4x4 and it is time to do a little work on her. I wish I would have gotten the hemi, but I got a really good deal on this one and being 19 every dollar counts. Anyways I am going to buy a K&N FIPK, Power wire, and SC tuner for the truck. It really should liven in up a little bit. It has alot of down low power cuz it came with 3.92's. Naturally I just want a little bit more. Next on the list is adding gibson headers, adding a 180T-stat, E-Fan, pulling of the FM 50 series DOR and Replacing it with a magnaflow 5x8 DOR. After that some 206 cams and then the lift and replacing the 285x70x17 Khumo AT's with 35x12.5x17 Dick Cepek FCII's. Just need a little bit more money for those. lol But starting with the CAI, PW, and tuner should be a great foundation.

skip out on the power wire. I dont think you'll find any good reviews on them from anyone besides the companies that sell them. Its a hoax. Take that money and switch out all fluids to synthetics (if you haven't already done so).

Def take pics along the way. I love watching stock trucks get personalized and take shape into sick rigs. good luck

HERE is a link for you to read on the PowerWire

Its basically a PowerWire for 55 new or $5 for everything you need to make one yourself and have the same thing. Your choice.

It's going to be a long and fun process. I can't wait til the day that I can buy a diesel. Then the modding has only started. lol I think I will switch the PW for a 180t-stat. It will probably benefit me more with the engine. Does it provide any other benefits than a cooler running engine, longer engine life, and smoother running? And I am already running RP in the engine. I am going to wait until next summer before I go fully synthetic, but it is definately in the future.

AF I was just wondering how you like the magnaflow muffler? I have the FM50 DOR and am thinking about swithing it out for the 14'' long 5x8 DOR magnaflow muffler. Also how are those ProComps holding up? I have heard mixed things about them.

I am going to run SC until I get the 206's. They are probably a few years down the road though. Then I can have it custom tuned, or by then there will probably be an SCT or equivilant tuner for our engines. OE did you notice anything with the Power Wire?

Yes I did, I know a lot of people describe it like this. Giving that peppy feeling it has in the morning all day.
