Default Another CAI question

Hey all. I'm a noob here and I have a question. I'm definately no mechanic but I would like to do a few mods to my 2006 1500 Quad Cab Laramie 4X4 with the 5.7 Hemi. Probably the most I'm going to do is exhaust, a programmer and a cold air intake.

My question is about the CAI. I've searched and it seems like there are many different opinions out there. Would you guys say that they are all about the same or do I need to spend $250 - $350 on a CAI or will I see similar results from a $50.00 system from ebay??

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Just remember you get what you pay for. I would stay away from the e-bay cheap ones and watch for a good deal on a repitable name if you have the time to watch. I just went with the MIT Tube and used the stock box with a K&N filter in it and I am real happy for only spending about $120 (got good Deal and K&N off Ebay) here is link to the MIT tube http://www.airaid.com/ModularIntakeTubes.aspx

Getting what you pay for may be true but unless you have a SC3815 to monitor the actual air temps, you dont know how good it really is.

Similar to the MIT tube and comes with a good filter and everything you need for a good price.

I have heard people having great results making their own. If your going to spend money I would go with the BFI from airflow innovations. Its what I have and it is a great product. The quality is second to none and it is one of the best performers out there. Lance is a great guy to deal with as well! I have had the K and N fipk and was not impressed.

The only prob I see with making your own is if you're from california....it won't be CARB exempt so you'll have to take it off when getting smogged.
