Default Please Help

I really need help my 03 ram 1500 hemi is hot when i first turn it on and get close to red lining on the gauge but after i get going down the freeway it seems to cool down a little but still if i get on it it starts to get hot again and i have changed the radiator, radiator thermostat, fan clutch, and i dont know what else to do to get it to stop running so hot so please help me any way you can thanks please e-mail me at king_james9178@yahoo.com

im willing to bet its the temp sending unit. they're really cheap and easy to install (fortunately).

that really doesn't make alot of sence but have you changed the water pump? But like AF said, try the sending unit first.

I had chronic overheating problems in my 68 Firebird, tried just about everything you can think of, and then some.
Finally a mechanic from down south recommended that I just yank the thermostat all together, which you can get away with in the summer, or if you live down south.
You'll have no heat, not a major drawback in the summer.

That cured my problem lickity split, went from 230 to a steady 190, even idling on a hot summer day.
I've been driving it for years like that, haven't noticed any ill affects, though I'm sure some folks could rattle off some possible negative consequences of running long periods without a thermostat.

BTW might want to try a good tune up if you haven't already, faulty timing, fouled plugs, bad wires ect can all cause and/or contribute to over heating.

If its hot as soon as he turns the truck on its definatley a sending unit...
