Default Soon To be a new ram owner

Hey guys, somebody in my extended family is selling his 2002 quad cab red fully loaded (leather too ) 5.9L magnum. The truck has 93000 miles on it and has an exhaust, intake, and an msd ignition thing from what I can see. The interior is immaculate and the exterior has a couple scratches and a dent in the rear bumper, but that's a truck for ya .

I was just wondering if there is anything in particular i should look at on this truck that has a bad reputation. I also know the 5.9L magnum is gonna be way harsher on gas than my old cavalier used to get haha. So I was just wondering what's a good programmer to get for this engine with the mods that are already on it so i can get a little better MPG, or any other mods that might help with MPG. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to DF! The best mod you can do to the truck for better MPG's is.......KEEP YOUR FOOT OUT OF IT! LOL!! Good luck with the truck. sounds like a nice one. Post some pics of it! We love pics!!

I went on the superchips website and there's a whole lot of different programers available... I don't know which one in particular is the one i need . He's selling the truck to me for $10,000 CAN which i figured was a farely good deal. I'm going to get it inspected first and then go from there. I'll post pictures some other time... too busy to do it now.

i have a 2nd gen ram with the 5.9 which was in early 3rd gen ram, there really good and realible motors , i added a superchips and it was a day and night diffrence in performance. things to look for look down in throttle body for plenum leak, and it will prob need a tune up
look in my signiture for some other bolt ons if your interested in more mods, if anything with the motor come to 2nd gen you may get more responces

good luck with the new rig and have fun , dodges sound the best too, soo have fun keeping your foot outta it
