I bet the 3.55 gears are really holding you back. But you should be a lot faster than 10 second 0-60 mph runs. You should be able to kill the stock GM trucks unless they're duramax's. They are nowhere near what a Hemi is. Do these:

Spark plugs
Full Seafoam Treatment
Switch to Mobile 1
Get your EGR Valve Replaced

Fix the problem while its stock and then add performance parts. No point in trying to make a truck that isn't running right fast. Fix it back to the stock point and them make it fast.

my dakota had the 3.55 and switched to the 4.10m big overall difference. as for removing the cats, bad idea. most people will just punch the cat out for a more free flowing exhaust, that way you still have the bung were the sensor will plug into

The cats used on the Hemi Rams are among the most free flowing stock converters in the industry, besides a little back pressure is essential for good low end torque to get you rolling from a dead stop easier.
There is no need to remove the cats. I put on LT Headers and simply moved the cats back about 18" to allow for the extra length of the headers, extending the sensor wires by about that much.
I've done the non-fouler trick in the past when I've cut out the cats, but these newer cats are not your father's '70s vintage, highly restrictive catalytic converters...

0-60 in 10sec?? I would die if that was all my truck could do. What else do you have on your truck? Any large tires or lift? Anything weighing it down? If not take it down and get it serviced, change out all the fluids (oil, diff, trans, coolant), get your EGR valve replaced, and get the plugs replaced. That way you are starting out with new everything and give it a run.

Yeah, no joke. Platinum has been at an all time high the past few years. the last thing automakers wanna do is coat the inside of the cat with more Platinum than they need to. Costs too damn much. They are using otherways such as 2 plugs per cylinder, changing the positioning of the plugs, redesigning the combustion chambers for more "swirl" action to reuse waste gases....etc..

Change your gears front diff and rear diff $2k+/- and see how it is from there. Gonna be a huge improvement none the less and up the amount you can tow or haul.
