Default 1st post please help

Hello all,

I just bought a 02 4.7L quad cab and the a/c doesn't blow cold when stopped, it blows extra cold going down the highway but as soon as I stop in traffic it's as warm as the vent would be. So I pop the hood and notice that the condenser fan isn't working when the air is on so I bought a new motor for it. I can't seem to figure out how to replace the motor without disconnecting the two lines coming into the condenser. Won't that discharge my a/c? I can see four very small 8mm (?) bolts holding the current fan motor in place but I don't know how I can get to them unless I pull the whole fan, condenser and shroud. Anyone done this before?

Thanks!

First off, Welcome to DF! That has never happend to me, sounds really weird...I think it would discharge your a/c, but I don't know too much about that kinda stuff. Might try taking all that stuff out and putting the new fan in, or let the place you bought the truck look at it.

Welcome...

Find out if there is voltage getting to your old fan first. Get yourself a multimeter and check. It may be something as simple as a blown fuse or burnt relay. That new fan will fix nothing if there is no pwer getting to it...
