Default badge paint

i need your guys help. i took the badges off my truck and i want to paint them black. i sanded down the letters so they are decently rough, sprayed 2 coats of plastic primer, and 2 coats of black rustoleum paint. I go back in the morning to check it out and now the paint has littlebumps and **** in it. it bubbled up. what did i do wrong? obviously i have to sand them down again, but this time.. what kind of primer/paint do i use so it will work?

any help would be great, thank you

You have to make sure that the paint and primer are compatible with each other. Use Duplicolor primer and paint or at least primer and paint of the same brand. Also make sure your part is perfectly clean of oils and waxes. Spray the first coats very lightly and follow up with light coats. Don't just spray 1 or 2 heavy coats. Take your time. The best paint jobs are the ones that are sprayed on the best prepped surfaces. Make your part perfect before you paint, don't try to make it perfect by trying to cover imperfections with paint...
