Adding Cruise Possible on 2005 Hemi Manual Trans?????
Hey guys,
First post here - youve got quite a site going here with lots of good info.
I am trying to figure out how to add cruise (either factory or aftermarket) to my pickup, but I noticed that the gas pedal is all electronic and therefore you could not use an audiovox cruise and pedal pull it.
I havent taken all the plastic off under the hood on top of the motor to see if I could attach the mechanical cruise to it or not - does anyone know?
I would really love to have factory cruise and would pay a decent amount for it, but im not sure what all it entails exactly. What parts would I need? and I read somewhere else that I may have to have the computer flashed or something to recognize the cruise - is that true? Is all the wiring there already and would just have to add the main components?
I contacted two different Dodge dealers and they both said there is no "kit" for adding cruise, but it must be able to be done somehow - obviously most trucks do have cruise. I failed to ask them if they could order the individual components or not - I assume they must be able to. I cant live without cruise - I just bought this truck thinking it would be not too difficult to add cruise.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hemis do come with a manual transmisson, But only in the 2500 Ram.
As for adding a aftermarket cruse or dodge cruse kit to a 2500 hemi, I would trade the truck in for a manual with cruse control.
I really don't know any thing abought the electronic throtle, but thiers a nutrual safety switch ( mine has clonked out twice, booth times warenty ) extra fuses and your going to need the cruse butons, not a big deal thier as you can pop out the plugs on the non cruse stearing wheel.
If you found a donner truck with the hemi and 6sp, with you might be able to figure it all out..
