Default Center of Dash Squeaks Loudly on Bumps!

My 2008 2500 4x4 has 3,500 miles. Almost every bump or pavement "ripple" I hit makes the center of the dash squeak loudly. This is driving me insane! Two weeks ago the dealer gave me the typical "could not duplicate" BS.

Any suggestions on what this is so that I can get it fixed?

Thanks!

I would try and take the radio bezel out and the radio to get right in there to see for yourself. The bexel just pops out although it seems like it's bolted down at first. Radio has 2 or 4 hex screws. Maybe you can stick some napkins or foam in there if you can find it.

3500 miles. That would **** me off.

Im guessing who ever put your dash together at the factory forgot a screw or a piece of felt. I would take the radio bezel out and have a look and see if you see anything.

I have an 05 and it had the same squeek. Actually there of many of us that have had that squeek or still do have it. What it tends to be is this little area under where your front cup holder is. when you close the cup holder there is a little plastic piece that is under it. If you remove the plastic peice you will see a couple of bolts, I believe they are 10mm bolts. The common problem is that one of them is usually loose. Just loosen both of them a little bit, then re-align your cup holder while it is still closed, and then tighten down the bolts and put the plastic piece back on. That should solve your problem. If you don't want to do that the only other fix is a temp one and that is to close the cup holder and push on that area that is beneth it. This temp fix tends to stop the squeeking, but the first way is much better.

My '08 1500 has the same squeak and they "can't reproduce" it either. I'm gonna have to take it back again and drive. Mine's only on bigger pothole or sewer cover bumps though, not just normal small bumps. Definitely annoying as hell. I'll try WeightLifter's fix first and see what happens
