Default 2007 Hemi - Spitting and Light Backfire --HELP?

2007 1500 Laramie 5.7 Hemi is acting a little strange. I actually blew apart the back of my MagnaFlow Exhaust two weeks ago and have been getting a spitting and backfire when taking off from a dead start.
And...it feels like it's lost a bit of power off the line.

I'm also getting a skip and occasional down shift on the highway between 60-70mph. It's really wierd...spoke to a few mechanics, one said, "change the plugs" ( did that, no difference)
One said, "check and change the oil, and filter" (did that, no difference)
Another one said, "change out the Fuel Pump"(thinking of doing that next)
I'm not getting any codes so I really don't know what's going on. Any ideas??

Take it to a dealer. The mechanics you are talking to are wasting your time, especially the one who told you to change your oil. Sounds like you may have a stuck injector,a bad valve,valve seat or a bad plug wire. When you changed the plugs were they all the same color? If so how did they look. Check at your dealer and see if they would hook up their co-pilot for awhile...

Default Still skipping

Trying to avoid the dealer.... I get hives everytime I go near one.
Could it be a coil?
Was also told it might be the fuel pump????
I'll get to the dealer next week if I can't figure it out.

Your backfires are being caused by too much unburnt fuel leaving the combustion chamber, all the things Alpheus mentioned could cause this along with too cold of plugs and retarded timing, but if you've pulled the plugs and they look uniform, then the rest of these would be better suited to the dealer as the computer does everything now days.
Here's some reference material;
