is anyone running a sc programmer and a powerwire and a 180 t-stat trouble free. i have a 05 with just the sc, exhaust and a cai and was thinkin about adding the powerwire and the 180 t-stat what u guys think
From: Minot AFB, ND in person, the 'burgh at heart
def go with the 180 tsat but you're better off making your own power wire. check out the DIY. its a peice of cake and will only cost $5 or less in parts
I am running sc 3815, the actual power wire, and the True Flow XDI intake and I have had no problems with codes. The 180 t-stat is sitting on my dresser drawer. I have a FM50 DOR as well. The 180 t-stat would richen your a/f ratio and will have the engine run cooler.
Ah, well Im not wanting to go anymore rich that where I am now until I get my A\F gauge setup. My MPG sux enough as it is. Thanks for the lesson though.
I agree on a semi stock truck that you would not want to richen the a/f up any; however, on a heavily modded truck it is a different story. All the mods that I am doing lean up the a/f. CAI, Headers, Ported heads, free flowing cat converters, magnaflow muffler, and a tuner all do a great job at leaning your mixture out; however, they can lean it out too far at times and cause a code to be thrown. If you put a 180 t-stat in a heavily modded truck then it will be beneficial to have a slightly richer mixter due to the fact that you will be running so lean. Plus your engine will run cooler and have a longer life expectancy.
