Homemade ram air style CAI scoop
Hey all has anyone seen the Volant "In the Bumper" air scoop that's being made for the Cummins 2500/3500's?? I was looking through Diesel Power (great Mag) and checking out the drag diesels and a few had these homemade inlaid air scoops in and under the bumper. Then Volant came out with one with the Ram-Air effect and a tube running up into the air box up the right side inside the wheel well for street trucks.
I was thinking of building one but I'm worried about the rain and or water getting up and into the K&N filter. I know it's pretty high up there but if I enclose the filter inside a type of air-box to block off the hot under hood air or relocate the filter closer to the front and a little lower, what do you think of water getting in there. Thanks, H-

i think you would be ok for everyday driving, but i would be slightly worried when going through puddles. I would prob keep the filter in the engine bay area and run a tube to your air box. heres something else to try
