Default Installing second Sub

So i'm installing my second sub. Right now I have a kicker l5 10' with some crappy sony 800w amp. I just picked up a second l5 kicker and 400w alpine amp for 100$. Is it pretty simple to setup a second battery for the truck? I'd like to do that but if its a pain is it possible to just hook up the second amp to the same battery. I dont want any dimming lights every time the bass hits so I'm trying to do this very clean. Thanks.

my 1000 watt kenwood makes my lights dim you could buy a power cap and that might help but finding room for another battery is another thing unless you make a mount and tie downs for it and mount it underneath in a bed well then you gotta run more wires and possibly get a larger alternater just some input......

you could add the second sub and get one amp for both. If you have an efficient enough amp you wont need a cap. Don"t go cheap, it will be worth it.

Ive been running 2 Kicker 12s with a 1600w sub amp and a 400w for my mids and highs and never had my lights dim. But I do have a 1000 amp battery. But being I just added a winch, I recently added another battery tray with another 1000 amp battery and upgraded all my charging/starter system wiring to 1 gauge.

I still vote for a second battery IF you are going to pull a lot of juice, which IMO, you wont be. Like I said, your main convern is that you dont want to get dimming lights. And like I said, I was running 2 amps and about 2k watts plus 5 TVs and a Xbox 360 off my one battery and never had an issue. I assume since you are running an amp (and soon to be more than one) that you are running a power wire from your battery to a main fused distribution block right? With that you can connect anywhere from 2-4 amps if you wanted.
