Probably should have followed my gut, and went with the Flowmaster 50 with a cutout.

Yeah, you are right. To me, a cutout seems a little silly if you are running a loud exhaust system to begin with. The cool part about a cutout, is you can run a relatively quiet exhaust or stock system, and then at the flip of a switch, have it as loud as you want. Then, when your tired of the sound, or have passengers in the vehicle, just flip it back, and make it pleasant once more.

The only thing I didn't like about the cutout, was that it just lets the air run into the flap off the y-pipe. Seems like that would cause a disturbance in the exhaust flow having exhaust going into the little y-pipe exit.

You know I really dont know to much about the physics of how the gasses bouncing back against the cutout work, but the basic process is its going to follow the path of least resistance. As for hurting anything, well like I posted above, with the cutout open I loose on average 0.39sec (+/-) on my 0-60 runs compaired to running through the catback (according to the data logging on the SC). So I doubt its hurting the performance a whole lot if any as far as the catback is concerned. Unfortunately though, I didn't test the times before I put the cutout on so I dont have a baseline to compair what it was with just that catback to how it is set up now.

Sounds damn good. Love the sound of an open cutout, neighbors might not love it as much . So what are you running with that thing open and closed as far as 0-60 times go?

Closed (running through the catback) the fastest was 0-60 in 6.32
Open the fastest was 6.71.
Outside temp. 101* (I have a feeling thats what killed those times)

I'd run it a few miles with it closed and then go out to a stretch of road that is basically open and do 5 runs, come back home reset everything and let the truck cool down a bit then do the same thing. I'll try it again after the rest of the work gets done to it around july/august, and do another run once it cools down a bit more.

Shift points
Rev Limiter is set to 6300
WOT 1-2 is 6150
WOT 2-3 is 6050

I still have some more tweaking to do on it and now that I have all the newest updates I can adjust things slightly more and see if I cant squeeze a little more out of it by adjusting those shift points, but Im thinking of ditching the SC and go to diablo when a get my cam, that way I can get a little bit larger cam than what I've been Looking at.
