So since i'm getting rid of all my chrome, i figured i would attempt to paint my grill. This is just temporary till i get a new one. I have been buying my bumpers, hood and grill one at a time untill all are ready to get painted at once. I did this job with some duplicolor rattle can paint. Sanded it down as rough as i can but couldn't for the life of my get the chrome off. I primed it 3 coats, painted it 3 coats and laid 3 coats of clear coat on it. Looks decent to me for $15 bucks and about 4 hours. Let me know what you guys think...

it looks a little darker but that might be the pics. nice work. oh and you only need to sand the chrome till you get a brushed aluminum look where you cant see a definite reflection

 

Yeah idk whats up with the color. It is a little darker at angles. It's flame red (P4Q) but it might be because of the quality of paint. It's good for a temporary job tho.

 

you can get an aluminum grit scotch bright pad to get rid of the chrome and prep it at the same time

 

get yourself a little higher quality of paint, and i think it's good for a permanent job.

 

i trhink it looks real good cant wait i might do mine tomorrow now that i see that....

 

Pretty good job. I probably wouldn't be able to tell if it was done by you or came from the factory that way. Good job!
