Front Differential model number
I own a 2007 RAM 3500 5.9, auto transmission 4x4. How do I figure the model number of the front differential? I am changing the differential oil and need to get the front differential cover torque specs. Does anyone know if the front differential gasket is reusable?
Look on your glove box lid for your axle and diff info. The gasket is not reusable, its sealed with a high temp RTV silicone and the axle specs for my 2500 gasser are:
Bolt, Differential Cover 30 ft. lbs
Fill Hole Plug 25 ft. lbs
The fluid capacities are: 2.37 quarts for the front and 2.65 quarts for 10 1/2 inch, 3.81 quarts for a 11 1/2 inch rear axle...

you can also get the model number by getting under the truck. somewhere on that axle there will be a bright colored sticker with the model number. i think it will likely be closer to one wheel, wrapped around the axle tube.
The gasket is a reuseable rubber gasket, so don't throw it away. Your front axle is an AAM 9.25". The specs on your AAM 9.25" axle are as follows:
Front axle 9 1/4 AAM 74 oz = 2.31 qt 75W-90 or 75W-110 API GL-5 diff COVER BOLTS 30 ft-lb
Rear axle AAM 11.5 takes 122 oz. = 3.81 qt 75W-90 or 75W-110 API GL-5 diff COVER BOLTS 30 ft-lb
03-003-06 TSB for axle fluid fill level
rear pinion nut is a 36mm 12 point
front pinion nut is a 32mm
