Maybe but just remember, more is not always better. Two 8"s properly amped with enough airspace will slam more than six 8"s with no airspace. Plus think of the expense of buying the box, six 8"s and a big enough amp to power them all. I would say just get 2 shallow mount 12"s with a decent amp and use that box, IMO. Thats just my 2 cents.

 

Also, I went out and bought the 3/4 MDF and had Home Depot make most of my cuts for me (less clean up at my house ). I took out the tray and to allow for my box, which I have decided will fit into the tray, I had to make a few cuts in the corners of the tray. With only one corner left to do I had to make a pit stop at the local emergency room after a slip of the exacto knife. So production of the box has stopped for today, hopefully to start up agian tomorrow. Does any know what type of cauking to use when sealing the interior of the box?

i wouldn't ever do 6 8's, i'm probably gonna end up doing 2 10's in 2 boxes made of acrylic, if i ever save up enough money

 

this one with one 12 inch will sound twice as good as any # of 10s or 12s you can put behind the seats. it sounds a hundred times better when the subwoofer is facing downwards and when the sound waves have something solid to bound\ce off of like the floor board it is even better!!!

To start with, Hemi44, you don't want her number, shes crazy. Slim jim, if you ever end up putting in a acrylic box you must post pics. And lastly, Bigc, yes, it would sound decent being that it is bouncing off the hard floor but then why not put two 12"s behind your seat facing the bed? Then you get the sond bouncing off the solid back wall, but, then agian, in a regular cab truck it really doesn't matter where you face the subs, they are all basically going to sound the same. Now if we were talking cars I would say put the subs in the trunk, facing towards the rear as close to the trunk lid as possible. But like I said, in the small confines of a truck, it doesnt really matter.

and yeah, it will take a while, i donno if any of you have looked at the price of acrylic lately, but it will cost more than the subs themselves

 

I third, all crazy. She says I'm crazy because I spend so much time and money on my truck yet it takes her 2 hours just to get ready to go out to dinner, sounds crazy to me. I only spent $152 on my two Kickers off Ebay and the last time I checked the custom stereo place near me gave me an estimate of $300 which they said was cheap but they had not made one before so they would give me a discount being the first. Thats about $250 more than I budgeted a box for (becuase I am doing it myself) there for I shyed away. But one day...
