Default Tail Lights

Next Thursday I'm dropping my truck with the bodyshop to have them touch up the areas where I removed the mud flaps from the front of the truck. After I had removed the front flaps, it left incisions on both sides of the truck. While I was making the appointment, I asked him if they had ever done something with darkening the tail lights of a vehicle. He told me he did his truck, and his neighbors, but that that he went "grandpa style" with his because he didn't want to be pulled over for them being too dark. But he said it's more of a subjective thing, and wanted me there Thursday to go over how dark I want them to be. I asked him what they used, and he said they just color match the paint of the truck and then mix in a clear coat, and just go right over the tail light, seems pretty awesome. I wasn't sure if I wanted to leave the reverse lights on the tail lights untouched though, what do you guys think of that look?

Also, what do you guys think about having them lightly do the headlights and foglights while it's there?

I would cover the reverse light too but I'v seen it done both ways. Either way I'm sure it will look good. I would get him to do the heads also but remember you will loose some light that way.

I think it looks better if you do the whole tail including the reverse light. It makes the job look more complete IMO.

I agree do the whole tail, but Bear is right you will loose some visibility if you do the headlights I just did a lil niteshades on the top edge of mine and clear coated the whole lens I will have some pics this weekend they aren't quite done yet i also painted the chrome inside black and that makes the whole light look darker
