Help, Axle Seal (IFS) Leak
Help, I have a front {IFS} axle seal leak. It is on a 2006 5.7 Ram 1500 4x4, passenger side, the side with the 4x4 engagement unit on it. I have the upper a arm ball joint, and caliper off, I left the axle nut on because it looks like I should have enough room to pull out the axle on the seal side, then pry out eh seal and replace it {odd seal, it bolts on with 4 bolts} The problem is pulling out the axle. I heard it should just pry out, is this true? no snap rings or anything, it seems quite tight and I do not want to break anything. Also, I'm concerned about the force it might take to reinstall it if it's taking this much force to remove it. If i end up needing to remove it completely does anyone know the axle nut size size? I am new to all this posting stuff, hope I did it all right, and that someone can confirm I am on the right track or stop me before I do the wrong thing. I tried finding a manual for my year. I went to several places with no luck finding one.
Thanks for you help,

first use a 36mm socket to take the axle nut off and remove the axle from the hub. Dont try to remove the axle with it still in the hub. I dont think there is enough articulation for it to come out while still installed, although I have never tried it before. After you remove the axle from the hub just yank that baby out, but dont pull on the end of the axle because you dont want to seperate the axle shaft and damage the boot. Put a prybar behind it if you have to. They slip back in a little easier. ..
