I want to keep it "semi" legal. They are not restrictive so really there is no point in ditching them.

I understand about keeping the cats on, but if they are removed will there a huge difference in sound? I had the cats off my 95 318 and it was a world of diff. But with these newer cats should i even bother?

its a CAT it is restrictive in someway, IMO if your putting headers on, get the y-pipe and ditch the cats, cause ur obviously looking for a better flowing exhaust and keeping the cats defeats the purpose of the headers.
