U joint help

Default U joint help

I was about to order new U joints for my truck to put on when i get it back from the body shop and I came across something I have no clue about..

Does my truck have a 2 joint shaft or 3 joint shaft.

2005 2wd 1500 4.7

2 u-joints....one in the front and one in the rear

So whats a 3 joint... Ive never heard of it

I know there's a 4 joint for 4wd

A 3 joint would be exactly what it sounds like - has 3 U-Joints in the shaft. My 2000 Dakota had 3 U-Joints in the front drive shaft, and 2 in the rear. The front was so crammed in there that they had to put 3 joints in to make it bend and fit.
