Default Best superchip?

I'm really new to my ram, so if i say anything stupid, sorry. lol.

I wanted to get a superchip for my '08 Ram 1500 5.7L Big Horn!

I think i've narrowed it down to:
1. the cortex
2. and the flashpaq
good choice?

i want the most power (i'm really sick of soccer mom's in rx 350s cutting me up) :/

the price difference is like 50 bucks between them. i'm just wondering if it's worth the extra for the cortex, who's had a good experience with them,
and if these are even good superchips. any better suggestions?

also, this is kinda off topic, but what's an air intake for?
someone told me i should get a cold air intake kit from k&n, and i was just wondering what it was for.

also also, what else can i do to my ram to make her FAST!
like 0 to 60 fast fast
fast

the flashpaq will do all you want it to do and more. i dont think the cortex is worth the extra $$ imo.
the cai you gets air into your tb. i have the kn 57 series and love it got an extra 2mpgs along with the added power and noise lol to add to a 0-60 also looking into exhaust, gears, etc. im at 6.2 secs right now but im only on the superchips 87 tune. check the faq section for more info

wow, you just gave my like 10 more questions, ha.

how much power are you talking about with the cai, and how does it add noise?

what do you mean the 87 tune?
what are gears?
and whats a tb? lol.

and i already got my exhaust done. i really wanted em loud so i went for the flowmaster super 40 series dual side.

the kn adds like 10 hp. since it is an open filter when you floor it you can tell its under the hood!! lol http://www.airram.com/product.php?ca...&productid=650
the superchips has 4 tunes on it so you can program your truck. 87, tow, 91, and mileage tune. i use 89 oct gas so have to use the 87 tune. the tow and 91 require 91oct gas but you will get more power.
gears are what mover your truck. you have either 3.55s or 3.92s. 4.56s gears are the usually upgrade and will make your truck accelerate faster.
the tb= throttle body where that hemi hat is connects too

go with the Flashpaq I think will suit your needs. The Cold Air kits also can make a whistling sound (my K&N on my Magnum). But my AEM Brute Force intake does not make much noise, or at least if it does, my exhaust drowns it out. I think all you might hear with a cold air kit is a slight sucking noise (like a vaccum).

The K&N on my Magnum has a slight whistle but not in a bad way, it is more subtle than a TB or supercharger.

P.S. ilovemyram, if you are trying to catch a mercedes S 550 you most likely won't. They are fast. 0-60 in 5.3 (Car and Driver May 2009)

If I was choosing between the flashpaq and the cortex I would go flashpaq. You can get a used one for fairly cheap and it has all the performance features that the cortex has.
