Hey all,

Im am wanting to upgrade to a touchscreen radio of some sort...what all is requires to do this? I have already got the Navigation bezel that comes with the Laramie models...I have not found a radio yet..I am wanting one that is essentially plug and play, just unhook my factory radio and plus this one in...any advice would help..

Umm there is not much to it. Get a double din pioneer, its cheap and a good radio. What year model is your truck?

If it is an 06+, you need a power module because of the accessory power that stays on until you open the door. $100. Then you need a antenna adapter. Cheap. Then a wiring harness, $30 for a really good one. Last thing is a Dash kit for a double din radio for dodge rams. $20.

So you are looking at about a $400 radio and about $150 in installation equipment. It is super easy to put in , essentially just plug and play. Also, you are going to have ONE other thing. You understand that they do not want you to watch movies while driving? You have to take the parking brake wire coming from the aftermarket head unit(usually grass green) and wire it into a switch. easy to do and some of the new AVIC pioneer radios dont even need this.

If you need any more info just PM me

Ive got a Pioneer AVIC Z1 with a bigger internal HDD and Z3 updates and love it.

Here is a link for a Pioneer AVIC F900BT from BestBuy Outlet on Overstock. I have bought lots of things from them and never an issue. This HU doesnt come with cables but you can buy those on ebay. My HU came with everything but I dropped about $680 on it. So by the time you get a HU like this one in the link and buy the cables, you should be close to that but I suspect a bit lower because, again, I updated my unit and took the 30gb HDD out and put in a 60gb.
