None of that will fit the truck that is the subject of this thread.

It's about 5000lbs empty, so I figure less than 6000lbs (gear + propane)

3. Truck only has 15K miles so I think I'm good on diff's
4. I have a IR gun, that's a good idea just to check temps to make sure everything is good before a major problem occurs...
5. Any idea on gas mileage? I'm hoping for 10MPG am I dreaming?
Noop.
I believe all 1500 trucks in the Dodge range must change their diff oil every 15K.

15K miles that's crap, that's worse that the Jeep! It aint going to happen before the trip...just not enough time. Is there a good DYI as I'm sure the stealer is $$$

OK, looked in the manual, 2008 Ram page 505, 18K miles or 18 months whichever is first. That's even on the "heavy use" section. So looks like I'm not quite due but it needs to be on the short list when I get back...

every 18,000 seems like a lot, but whatever. I am going to install a drain plug if thats the case. Think it needs to be changed that often even with Mobil 1 in there (or any synthetic)?
