Default A/C - Heat Fan

The fan for the ac and heat on my inlaws 02 ram 1500 4door 2wd started working intermentantly. Now it quit working all together. I checked the resistor pack and the fan and they are good. What would be the next thing. Check the switch? I figure there is a relay some where. Where is it located? Also. When the fan works when you turn on the fan and push the ac button the ac light lights up. When you turn the fan **** to off the ac light goes out without pushing the button. When the fan quit working you turn the fan **** on and push the ac button the ac light lights up but when you turn the fan **** off the ac light still stays lit up. Doubt that helps but that is what is happeing.

i would check the relay it may be going out . that is always the first thing to go then the switch . i would narrow down your problem to those 2 or possibaly a loose wire?
hope that helps

Thanks ramhunter. Do you by chance know where the relay is? I look over the wiring diagram i have and i don't see a relay.

What I have done so far. I have pulled the switch out. Took it apart. The contacts seem wore but I don't feel a groove where they are not making contact. Regreased and put back together. Checked it for contunituity from bround to high, medium 2, medium 1, and low. They all read contunituity to ground. But when the switch is on low i get contunituity to ground on high, medium 2, and medium 1. That seems to tell me bad switch. But I believe it should still work on Medium 1, medium 2 and on high.

all your mediums should share the same ground i bealive but what your telling me all sounds like a bad switch. just because you can get contunity threw it once under load it could open or close if the switch is bad ...hell a switch is cheap change it and all should be great
