2004 A/C Evaporator
Hi everybody! I'm new here and just purchased a 04 1500 with a 5.7 hemi. Love the truck but the A|C does nothing. Had it checked and was told the evaporator is bad. Is this a job I should try myself? I am good with tools and my hands but am not a mechanic. Can anybody lead me to pics or videos or instructions on the dash removal? Thanks in advance.
This is a labor intensive job, something like 8 hrs labor. I see you know the dash needs to removed, lot of labor. I am not sure on the diagrams though, I am sure some are out there. I am handy with vehicles but this might be one job I would let a mechanic do. Be ready for a $800-1200 bill though. I know on the Chrysler minivans, the job is 1250 dollars. A family member had this done last year.

There was a post on this board I think, that showed pictures of how to do a complete strip out of a dash step by step.
I believe it was to replace the ac condenser/heater matrix.
Do a search it might be there?
