Default Ok, question...

My dad just bought these... http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand ...and until next year, is just gonna be running the stock rubber still... he only has about 25,000k on the stock rubber... and next year, he'll have about 30,000... he wants to know what the biggest size he can fit is...

He's thinking something like a 305/70/17... he was looking at these... http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...Terra+Grappler

Will they work? He has 2004 4x4 2500HD

A twelve inch wide tire is at about the most an 8" wide wheel can handle, but the specs I've seen call for a minimum of 8" to max 10" wide wheel for a 12" wide tire, so they'll work. Personally, I'd opt for a 17x9 wheel though, myself..

i agree. 12" is pushing it. it'll work, but you might see some premature wear.

I have an 06 2500 4x4, stock wheels, no lift, no level and run toyo open country at 285 75 17 without any rubbing issues. It isn't as wide a tire as the 305 but it sits about 34" tall.

Any 17x9 wheel would be a better choice, Frenchy. But if he's dead set on those 17x8s, he can get away with it...
