Question Transmission cooler line stuck

04 Ram 1500 5.7L 5-speed automatic trans.

Fitting will not release line at transmission radiator at front for flush.

Bought three different 3/8" release tools. Last one, metal, started scarring line. That much force used. Would you cut the line off? How?

When I did mine I simply slide the tool into the coupler and pulled it apart. I used the pack of fuel line QD couplers from Autozone. They were about $10 i think.

Thanks for the reply.
I used both the 4-way and the 2-way from auto zone. Then I used the Lisle plastic one from O'Reilly's. Really hard to slide them in . They will not release. I am afraid I am going to break something.

It is little black fingers that reach over the ridge on the line and hold the line inward. Right?

You simply slide the tool beneath the fingers, prying the fingers back so the ridge on the line will come out from beneath the fingers. Right?

How can that be complicated?

Apparently at least one of the fingers will not go back. It takes a great deal of force to slide the tool in and then when I turn the tool, one of those fingers is not back. It pops and nicks the tool.

What could be keep that finger from spreading?

you could try to hit it with some pb blaster? Just a thought, sounds like it is just getting stuck. Did you try twisting it back and forth?

I have tried twisting, push and pull and everything. I am afraid I will break one of the lines. It was a dealer serviced truck before I got it. They must have put it on wrong or something.
