There are some quick little suv/soccer mom cars out there. I came accross a red mazda something the other night at a light, didn't think anthing of it until the guy floored it and jumped like a lengthand a half a head of me. I still caught and passed him going around 70ish, but its just one of those things that if your not expecting it (and you really dont) you're going to be looking at their bumper playing catch up.

Those Yota's are pretty quick, if I remember a camry runs to 60 in 6.0 seconds or so. That is about 28 second faster to 60 than my Karmann Ghia! LOL

It is sad that the G8 is disappearing with Pontiac going out of business. I liked it's speed, but I couldn't believe that a v8-powered 4 door pontiac was an australian car. But hey my Hemis are from mexico.

600 more hp than stock! that means he has almost 1000 hp! I highly doubt he has that. I think you meant 600 hp but still that is a surprising amount. If he only put a "few" things on. He would have to have a supercharger or turbo that I sometimes see in the ads in the car magazines, I think procharger makes one.

^^ He would have to have a complete new shortblock with all forged internals plus a beefed up drivetrain.

with an LSX engine, i wouldnt doubt it, but 1000 is a little much to believe unless its a fully built race car...or a dyno queen.

i would have to disagree with you and say that the toyota prius is the queerest thing on the road right now, along with the smart car, and the vw bug and the cobalt, and the g5,....i could go on all day.
c'mon the g8 has a 6.0L , the prius has a duracell.....

sorry..queerest car...the prius is just a really nice golf cart.
i could probably lump most of pontiacs current lineup into that statement though, and thats why they are, where they are. they took some older aussie models and rebadged them, starting with the GTO that was a fair flop and the rest was just all downhill. they made every car look pretty much the same, which isnt a great idea when none of them are popular, except for their price.

we had to listen to the GM boys go on and on and on about this "charger killer" in the form of the G8, but when the GT came out, it failed on all counts. ive raced one in the demon and even with my awful street tires i beat him. anyways, once the Gt was pointed out as a joke, the gm boys starting going on and on and on about this manual transmissions GXP..im sure that they exist..i mean, ive seen one or two of them on the road, but when the liklihood of coming across one is about as good as coming across a lambo, i cant consider them any sort of real threat.
