Toneau question

Default Toneau question

I found this black Vinyl cover gets amazingly hot in the sun. Is this gonna damage it, Should I roll it up?

it gets hot??? in the sun? and its black? who would have thought.....

lol sorry couldnt resist no it wont hurt it, it was made to take the heat!

LOL, I know. I was just concerned, Weather out here is about in the high 90's. I realized just how hot it was when I went to roll it up and could touch it. I also see it sagging a bit and was kinda concerned. I figured it was probably made to take the abuse. Do you guys do anything to yours to help them weather the heat and cold, Like armor all or anything? I figure in the winter the black helps get snow and ice from forming on it, But the 90 to 100+ degree direct sun was what I was concerned about.

Just for grins it is 106*F 'actual temperature' here in South Central Texas today and I put a thermometer under my Truxedo tonneau and it read 141*F!!! No problem at all with the cover - BUT I would be careful what you put under the cover on these very hot days if it is susceptible to heat stress or heat damage.

i usually have mine rolled up in the summer but i have left it unrolled in the heat and sun before and it was fine.

I'd say just make sure you wash and treat it from time to time.
