Default torsion bar question

how high can you crank the torsion bars when you have 4 wheel drive? i know you can't crank as high as 2 wheels but i'm definitely jacking mine as far as i can safely.

Anything over 2-1/2" gets dicey with your CV angles. Especially they way you run your truck, lol! just start cranking and keep an eye on your CV'S and use your own judgment there Bo Duke!!!

hahaha, do you think 2 inch will be ok on my cv's? i don't need a wheel falling off when i'm bulldogging dirt roads

also, for it to be leveled, it's about 2 inches right?

LOL thats right 2 - 2-1/2" will get it level I am running about 2-3/4 and it is not bad on mine with replacement keys. I have had it in some tough spots since the lift and not had any problems with it. My CVS still look fine

you can just crank it from what I understand after I replaced my keys. The keys are what the bars are mounted in on the back end. There is an adjustment bolt that you crank, that pushes on the key and applies added torque to the bar. I have been told that the replacement keys are better quality metal, but dont know if it makes a difference. There are alot of guys running factory keys cranked with no problem. There is a write up in FAQ

I did 5 turns on my T bar bolts and got just over 2" I wouldnt do too much more then that. and IMO cranking them is the exact same as buying new ones, and this way costs you nothing. and if you ever wanna lower it back down. you just crank them down again.
