i was being sarcastic about the gray lebaron.

my guess would be the 3.7. the old 3.9's were dogs. i'd saw find someone with a 3.7 or a totalled one from a junkyard, and go from there.

It depends on what engine you want a more truck based engine the 3.7 which has a deeper more V8 sound but only has 215hp and 235lbs stock. Or a more car based engine like the 3.5 which is going to have a more ricey sound but comes with 250hp and 250lbs of torque. And theirs one other option and that's the new 4.0 v6 they have in nitros which has 260hp and 265lbs of torque but again a more ricey sound not deep enough for me but probably the best to mod as it has the most power stock and is the newest available. Since you have to do such serious mods to a gas engine to make any power out of then.

Let me get this straight: You're considering doing this with a ~92 Stealth and yet don't want to use its 3.0?

The reason I ask that is it's getting to be a pretty common deal to turbo the stock 3.0 with very good results. You don't have to fabricate anything; simply bolt on all the parts from the turbo version of the 3 liter.

You can reach around 110 mph traps in the 1/4 without having to do anything internally. Would that be quick enough?

yea...of course the 3.7 will take the beating, but you'll have to do work to it.

if you're gonna "hot rod" it...then you will have the motor taken out, bored, etc, etc...if all you're planning to do is throw a turbo on it...then you're not "hot rodding" it...you're adding a turbo...
