Default Limited slip or open??

Hi, I have heard that the factory LS diff isn't that great. Something about them having clips fall off inside them.

So I was thinking that I should just go with the standard open diff and then upgrade to aftermarket later.

BTW- a 5-star dealer told me that ram 1500 (getrag) 6-speed manuals are now in production (as of feb.)(3.7/4.7).

It is highly likely that I'll be ordering a ram on wednesday![sm=smiley20.gif]

I'd order the factory ones. I've only heard of a couple of people with problems. Mine works fine.

I haven't heard of anyone having that problem. If they are, it's more than just a clip problem.

The way I am understanding it...............
The clip(s) are the weak link in the factory LS and sometimes when they break and fall off they get pulled into the diff gears or ring gear and can damage to any or all of the gears and bearings.

Not a situation I want to be in!

Only good part is that I hear DC has been good about repairing/replacing when this happens.

If those clips break, that's the least of your problems since those clips hold the axles in. If I'm not mistaken, the rearends are the same whether they have LSD or not.
