Default Ram SRT 10

Hi, I am new to this forum and noticed some nice painted calipers. I have a 05 Ram SRT 10 and was wondering if someone knows how to take off the calipers so I can change the pads. Also, does anyone know the size tool for this job. Thanks.

Dude, start your own thread ya thread jacker! to take the calipers off theres just 2 bolts (the bolt heads are on the engine side of the caliper). not sure of the size, but its a medium sized metric (15 or 17 i think). Use a 3/8" or 1/2" drive ratchet.

and uhh... srt10? we're gonna need to see some pics. we're all VERY visual learners here. you cant be bringin that kinda talk in here without pics!

welcome to the forum

You know its funny because I painted the calipers on our Mini Cooper (hers) and the Ram (mine) over the weekend. Autozone here no longer sells the caliper kit and Advanced does but it was only in red (brush on type) and I didnt want red. In the spray on kits it was nothing more than hi-temp engine paint. One spray can did all 4 calipers. I painted hers Ford Blue which was very close to the color of her Mini and I painted mine Aluminum because 1) Ive got the two toned truck with silver at the bottom and 2) Ive got chrome rims. I did several heavy coats with the spray on so we will see how it holds up.

Looks nice. I painted mine white but also went the extra mile and painted the center of the rotors white as well.

Looks good. What did you use the first time you painted them? I have the duplicolor caliper paint on mine and it has held up pretty well.

it was the brush on duplicolor stuff....i just didn't put enough coats on and i didn't put it on thick enough. to do it right it should look like a plastic cover over the caliper and not just paint.? thats what the guy at autozone said
