does the 3.7 use the same transmission as the 4.7? I guess I am wondering if I want to put an 8 in it will I have to get another tranny? Right now I have the auto not sure the model number

 

I think the automatics are the same tranny as in the 4.7's, but unless you're putting it in it's probably cheaper to trade in for a different truck.

 

Yes I would be putting it in. My v6 has over 130k on it now so I am just looking at my options. Of course the tranny will probably go out before the engine but either way if I have to replace one I might as well put a v8 in. Should be able to pick one up cheap from a yard
