looks amazing man, i'm gonna do that but. i'm pretty confident i can do all that, but the paint scares me. how'd you paint it? with a gun or just a can? how'd you add all the adhesion crap and how many clear coats do you recommend with a metalic silver theme?

sorry for all the questions, but i've never painted any thing remotely this important

Here's how I did it. I sanded mine down, first with 80 grit to get all the texture off, then with 220 grit to get it more smooth, and then with 500 and 600 grit to make it as smooth as I could get it. I cleaned it off with lacquer thinner, then began to add primer. I put 6 coats of primer, sanding in between coats 3-4, and 5-6. Then I did 5 coats of blue. After that I finished it up with 3 coats of gloss. All in spray can form. It's very easy, just time consuming. You have to be patient with paint.

I'd really like to try this out but my truck already has a painted Bezel. It came stock Metallic Silver with the number plate. Do you think if I put enough time into in I could get it to match that? The bezel is really smooth and glossy.

Thanks for the info though I'm try it out on my aftermarket CD player Dash kit.
