How much more wire do you need? I think the CEL will stay on until the IAT is plugged in so you have a few options. You can extend your IAT wire by cutting and soldering more wire into it or you can buy a power wire or extension wire from airram.com.

You need an extension wire, Air Ram sells them on his site, and you can probably find them on other parts sites.

What are the consequences of driving it without the sensor hooked up? I am leaving Friday for a camping trip and pulling my camper. I don't know if I can get an extension wire shipped to me by then.

I think you should be fine, you'll just have a CEL on the whole time.

Like jusjay said, pull/cut some slack of wire out of the wire loom. I did on my hemi and got about 4 inches...

Don't leave it unhooked...your engine will pull timing like crazy with the hot underhood temps in summer.

I just installed my Airaid tube and the sensor wire was too short because they place it in the back of the elbow. I kust patched it and put the sensor where i could keep the factory plug. patch is on the back side an properly done so works for me! I just used pliable plastic that actually used to be part of an inner wheel liner. Worked out perfect. Even then same texture...lol Here's pics
