Default Another towing question

I've done some searching but I didn't really find the answer that I was looking for, so here goes: I'm looking to purchase an enclosed cargo trailer and I'd like some opinions on what would be about the biggest size that I could safely pull. I have a '07 Hemi 4X4 QC w/the tow package and 20's. I'm looking to get either a 7x12, 7X14 or maybe a 7X16 tandom axle v-nose trailer. They all have a 7000 GVW rating and take a 2 5/16 ball. I'm not experienced at towing anything, but I'm going to be moving and I need to be able to move my household items. I will have to tow thru the mts of the east coast. Should I have any problems towing any of these trailers? I know I'll have to make two or three trips to get everything moved. I'm thinking 3 with the 7x12 and 2 trips with the 7x16.

What would I need to do to hook up the electric brakes? I know it's a controller that goes in the truck, but how does it operate the brakes?

The insert that I have has a 2" ball and is rated at 6000 and 600. I'm guessing that I'll have to get a different insert that will hold the 2 5/16" ball and have a higher gross rating, correct?

Thanks for the help.

I have an '04 4x4 Hemi. I pull a 14ft horse trailer with a couple horses right now. The trailer itself is 4000lbs. With the horses its at least 6000lbs. Mine pulls great. I've pulled bigger stock trailers, and flat beds with large round bales. It never felt hard on the truck.

You will have to go to someone and have them install a break box in your truck. I think it only cost me $250-$300 to get everything set up for my truck and trailer.

And I have different ball mounts I can slide into the receiver for different ball sizes on the trailers.

Good luck!
