Default Thinking of going with slightly taller tire on my stock 20"

First of all, I did search but couldn't find the exact answer. Seems like people are either upgrading to different wheel/tire combo, have lifted trucks or lowered.

Well, I have factory tires and as all of you know they suck, they are in pretty bad condition right now.

Let me start with my Ram - it's 2006 4x2 stock 20" wheels, stock height.

I originally wanted to lift the truck a bit to at least achieve 4x4 look. But decided not to due to funds. So right now I need new tires, and I was hoping maybe tires would let me bring the truck up a bit.

Factory tires are 275/60/R20, I thought of maybe going with slightly taller tire (maybe 275/70/20 or 285/70/20) and wanted to see if that has been done on 4x2 and how it looks. Will it even work. If not, then what would you guys recommend, go with taller tire or not? If so, then would Goodrich A/T be good?

Thanks

Gonna say it again.......lol

Cooper LTZ FTMFW
not many sizes that are "taller" withou going wider really, so that will limit you right there. Given you got a 2wd beast, Cooper sound very reasonable for you. They are gonna look beefier than those stock HO's anyday so i think you'[ll find taller not necessarily to be better. Also taller with the 275 width will look kinda narrow as they are already breeching upon.
If you go taller, your gonna need to go wider to compliment the looks and a taller tire on a 2wd won't look that good IMO.
Maybe a wider tire for a 4x4 look more than a taller tire. 305/50/20? A bit wider and a lil bit smaller in height. Near same price as 275/60/20 LTZ's are $170 shipped from Treaddepot

So you think wider with smaller tire height will raise the truck up a bit?

Good point on the skinny tire, didn't think of that
