Default Perform service??

My truck started to beep at me after I started it, and it says perform service on the overhead concole... What does this mean? I have changed my oil already, is this something I just need to reset?

Are you throwing any codes? Got a CEL to go with that perform service message?

When was the last time you: flushed the trans? flushed the coolant? changed the plugs?

You prob need new plugs. they should be done every 30kmi along with a new air filter.
The oil change light is different from the perform service. I would read the owners maual for what you need to get done.

No CEL's with the perform service... I think I will go ahead and change the spark plugs and wires... I dont know about the trans and coolant because I bought it with 68k and it has about 70k right now. The truck is also using oil, its a 5.9L but its not leaking oil anywhere, and the plenum gasket looks good...

Notice any blue smoke on startup? How much is it using per oil change interval and what are your intervals?

That's about what mines uses but most of it is being sucked up through the driverside breather tube back into my intake.

RELAX, it's a manual timer you can set. According to the FSM:

SERVICE INTV. = - The options include from
3200 to 12000 kilometers in 800 kilometer increments
(2000 to 6000 miles in 500 mile increments).
The default is 12000 kilometers (6000 miles). The
selected distance becomes the interval at which the
Perform Service warning message will be displayed
by the EVIC. If a new distance is selected, a second
programmable feature appears, RESET SERVICE
DISTANCE? - The options include No and Yes. The
default is Yes. When Yes is selected, the accumulated
distance since the last previous Perform Service
warning message will be reset to zero because the
service interval has been changed. When No is
selected, the distance until the next Perform Service
warning message is reduced by the accumulated distance
since the last previous message.
