Default Thinking about buying a 2002 4x4 Quad cab

I'm in the market for a new truck. Looked at Fords, Chevys Dodges, even smaller trucks.
Found a nice red 2002 Ram 1500 Quad cab tonight. 77k miles. Clean as hell. CD/Cassette, and most other options, plus Hard Mopar bed cover, aftermarket exhaust and K&N filter. The exhaust wa sa little loud for me. I've got my Mustang if i'm in the mood for loud and knarly.
I read the reviews on Autotrader, and saw many complaints about electrical issues, brakes and ball joints. Seemed like many more issues than with a similar F150.
Scanning thru 7 pages of posts here, I see mostly posts about modifications, but have seem some of the issues mentioned. Door window an lock switches, ball joints, etc.
What problems would you expect out of a truck with this many miles on it that appears to have been well taken care of?

MPG is really leaning me towards a 5.4 Triton Ford supercab. about 3mpg better city and highway. I drive 60 miles round trip mostly divided highway at 60mph.
The Ford F150 seems to have better owner reviews on Autotrader also as far as reliability. A freind of my wife has a similar truck also except a little newer I think, and she has had no problems in 88k miles. She complains about mpg also. Hers has the Hemi.

my 2002 has 105k on it and other than wear out parts no problems, and there are mods you can do to get a couple mpg's and more power out of it. I have a ford company truck and I hate it!! I would much rather drive my Dodge! that is just me though

I picked up a 02 Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4x4 about a month ago now. Had 68k on it.

The only performance change is a CAI. I have been getting just over 12mpg city and 17mpg high way. It is way over due for some new plugs, so I am gonna change those out and see if it helps a little or not.

But as for problems? None. Sounds great, starts easy, normal idle. I love it.

I get the same mpg without the CAI, I was going to get 35's but my buddy had the same truck and got 8 mpg, we went to the mountains and had to stop twice there and back to fill up

had my 02 since aug of 07, picked it up with 13,900 miles and only two times I had major problems, first time was with the fan where i needed to replace an expensive part, second time was my upper ball joint that needed to be replaced and the brakes also needed to be replaced but they will ware down no matter what so it was only time until I had to replace the brakes. During the second time I also had to replace a PS line that cracked, every winter (2 winters so far) I have to have a PS line tightened as the cold weather messes with it. She has 36,800 miles now and is running good.

Well, The Ford 5.4L in the Supercab 4x4 gets 15mpg city / 19mpg highway... and owners are reporting much better then that even... For my 60 mile/day drive it's going to add up...
The truck I was considering had an aftermarket exhaust and K&N on it in the stock housing it appeared. The Dodge was definately a looker though.
