I am thinkink about buying an 04 ram off road editionwith the 5.7.
It would be more for work than play. most of my driving is hi-way,and wondering if the 3.92 rear axle would be a detriment vs the standard 3.55
in the slt .Any input would be greatly appreciated.

 

I have the 3.92's from the factory and they do just fine on the hi-way

 

if you might do any kind of towing or larger tires, i would get 3.92. if you are going to use it as a "car" and a car only, then 3.55s. I would just go 3.92 so you don't regret it down the road.
