Default few truck problems...

well i figured that id ask you guys and see if any of you can help me try and fix these issues.

1) my rear tail light dosnt work same with the licence plate light on the drivers side, theres no lamp out alarm on my dash, my brake, reverse and signals work but not the running lights and iv tried to see if the bulbs were the problem but there not, i guess its a grounding problem im not to sure.

2) my back door on the drivers side will not lock and unlock when i set the alarm i have to manually lock and unlock it and all i hear is the dang door alarm going on and on.

3) my rear window on the passenger side dosnt work sometimes when i go to put it back up, it goes down fine but when i go to put it up it wont go i have to fiddle with the switch then it eventually works.

4) finally i have power seats and the passenger seat when you go to move it, it makes a weird noise like its loosing power almost like a little click when i move the seat.

hopefully some of you can help me try and find the problems to a few of thease truck mysteries of mine.

Tyler

How's your battery? You can go to almost any parts store and have it checked for free. Its a place to start. Then I might look at the fuses. Making sure that they are all pushed in all the way and also that they are all still good. And make sure you fuse panel is water tight and nothing was leaking in there.

I had a bad seal on my old dakota and the electrical went crazy until it dried.

not too sure bout ur tail lights....

as for ur back driver side door not locking and unlocking.... can you lock and unlock wen u hit the switch on your door? if it works from your door.... im confused but if it doesnt then the little electronic servo or wutevr moves to lock and unlock ur door is done...

as for your window switch problem, it sounds like a loose connection. possibly the wires connecting to the actual switch itself? if all u hafta do is fiddle with the switch for it to work, that sounds like a loose connection either at the switch or somewhere real close by.

and for your passenger seat... does it move slower than your driver seat? and when it makes the clicking sound does the seat "jerk" in rhythm with the clicking?

i can lock and unlock the door from the inside.
for the window ill check the connections.
and for the seat it does move slower then the drivers seat and it also does exactly what you discribed with the click and the jerk in rhythm.

well as for ur locking/unlocking problem, i think the connection from your servo in your door to the recieving unit (the unit that locks and unlocks your door) inside the truck is either loose or messed up....

and as for your seat... check and make sure your seat isnt snagging on onything underneath n holdin your seat back from movin... if that isnt it it could be a tired out motor?

i have an 02 and my drivers rear door lock also stoped working i found broken wires in the rubber gromet between the door and the truck id try checking there first before pulling the door panel and if u do decide to pull the door panel anyways its should be one screw and the door handle screw which is a 10millimeter bolt then the panel lifts up but check for broken wiring.... common problem with chrysler products
