Default gears and towing

will putting larger gears in my v6 increase the towing capacity of the 6 I know the 6 is rated stock a few k lbs less than the 8's

They will help you pull weight at lower speeds, but depending on what gears you get they can get bogged down at highway speeds. I think the only thing holding back the towing capacity any further after gears would be the engine. Hopefully someone who tows a fair amount and upgraded their gears can give you some more insight.

ya thats what I was thinking. It has 3.55 in it now was thinking of going to 4.56 but I want to put 35's on so maybe I should go 4.8
