new noise

Default new noise

So i have come across this new noise and its driving me crazy....its only when im going 40-45 mph and its coming from the front....its this whine that i can not figure out where its coming from....i can only hear it with the windows up and no radio on. any thoughts....

Need more info....does it get louder at any time like turning left or right, or higher rpms? Could be a Idler pulley going bad, could be bearings in the altenator, if its louder when turning could be a wheel bearing. Need more info.

no same volume no matter what....and i havent really taken any turns @ 40-45, but i will try that.

as far as rpms it doesnt matter if i baby it or floor it.....no noise until i get to 40 mph

Front gears maybe? I have a whine at 60mph from my rear gears, nothing is wrong with them no shavings or anything they just developed a whine at 60mph, go above 60 and its gone, go below 60 and it gone, and it stays the same tone no matter what...

I get the same thing going down the freeway as soon as im on the ramp going 45-50 and my windows are down and my radio is off o can here it too and ive got an 08 ram 1500

With a 4wd and a whining noise, I was thinking gears also.

so you think i should check the front gears.... oh and i have since my last post been around turns at 40 - 50 mph and it does it then as well...its an all the time thing now.
